What is a Gauge Guard?
A gauge guard offers an isolation or barrier from the process media to pressure gauges or transmitters.
Gauge guards allow the use of pressure gauges and transmitters to be used in harsh applications to tackle chemical compatibility and viscous processes.
How does it work?
Gauge guards are typically a Teflon diaphragm with a solvent cement or threaded process connection and a ¼” or ½” FNPT connection for the gauge itself. The Teflon diaphragm offers the isolation barrier.
To ensure good transfer of pressure. the gauge side of the guard is typically filled with a glycol solution.

PAAS Gauge Guard Benefits
- O-Ring seal in gauge connection means there is no need to Teflon tape gauge seals onto o-ring.
- S/S re-enforcing ring on instrument connection
- Venting instrument assembly means easy installation – fill the gauge to the o-ring seal and install the gauge – no requirement for bleeding / no false readings
